Meeting with the Head of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan at ANAMA
Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), held a meeting with Ambassador Marijana Kujundžić, the newly appointed Head of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the Ambassador was briefed on the existing landmine problem in Karabakh and East Zangezur, the scale of contamination, the obstacles the landmine threat poses to reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts, as well as to the return of former internally displaced persons, and the large-scale demining operations currently underway.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the continued support of the European Union to humanitarian demining activities in Azerbaijan, new project opportunities in this context, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
