Azerbaijani FM meets with Estonian ambassador
On August 3, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Tiina Nirk, incoming Estonian Ambassador to the country.
Ambassador Nirk presented a copy of her credentials to the Azerbaijani FM. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Ambassador Nirk on her appointment and wished her success in her diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.
The meeting focused on the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Estonia in politics, economy, trade, transport, digitalization, education, and other areas. Praising the opening of the Estonian Embassy in Azerbaijan, the sides noted that this step would contribute to fostering bilateral relations, enhancing political dialogue, and strengthening the institutional framework of cooperation.
The officials stressed the importance of the activity of the Azerbaijan-Estonia Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation in expanding bilateral economic ties, adding that holding the next meeting of the commission would open new avenues for collaboration. They further underscored the significance of boosting educational cooperation, including holding the academic exchange programs, and enhancing cooperation between the higher educational institutions of both countries.
Ambassador Nirk mentioned that Estonia attaches great importance to advancing relations with Azerbaijan, adding that she would spare no effort to expand bilateral cooperation across all domains.
The meeting also addressed other regional and international matters of mutual concern.
