Budapest Declaration adopted as part of OTS Informal Summit
The Budapest Declaration has been adopted within the framework of the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Hungary, Secretary General of the OTS, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, stated at a joint press conference with Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjártó, Report informs.
Omuraliev noted that today the OTS leaders formalized a common vision for the next stage of cooperation by signing a forward-looking and comprehensive document: "The document provides a concrete roadmap for implementing regional economic integration through strengthened trade, harmonization of customs procedures, and development of modern infrastructure along the Middle Corridor or Trans-Caspian route."
The secretary general also stated that the declaration places special emphasis on technological cooperation, including digitalization, transformation, critical raw material resources, joint scientific research and innovation:
"Environmental sustainability remains a key priority. The declaration emphasizes the importance of future progress in the field of green energy corridors. It also notes the importance of coordinated efforts in ensuring regional security, protecting international law, and addressing urgent geopolitical issues such as the situation in Afghanistan."
