TAIEX Workshop was held on “International Standards and Innovative Solutions on Mine Action”
A TAIEX Workshop on “International Standards and Innovative Solutions on Mine Action” was held within the framework of joint cooperation between the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) and the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The workshop aimed to exchange international best practices, lessons learned, and innovative solutions developed by ANAMA, EU Member States, and partner countries to address several aspects of mine action and support the establishment of the International Centre of Excellence and Training for Mine Action in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the event, views were exchanged on environmental issues in demining, support for mine victims, new technologies and innovative solutions in mine action, gender equality in demining activities, accreditation, risk management, and donor coordination.
Participants in the event included Samir Poladov, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Agency, and Ambassador Peter Michalko, the Head of the European Union Delegation in Azerbaijan. Also present were the President of the Organization for Enhancing Human Security (ITF), representatives from the Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Action Center, the Azerbaijan representation of the United Nations Development Program, ANAMA and other state institutions involved in demining activities in our country, local commercial companies, as well as local and international non-governmental organizations.
