UN: Vaccination against coronavirus unsatisfactory in world
The world is not keeping up with the global coronavirus vaccination, UN Secretary-General's Spokesman Stephane Dujarric said at a briefing, Faktor.az informs.
"We're not in the place that we would like to be," he said. A UN official noted it was planned to get 40% of people vaccinated globally by the end of the year.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also called on the world to strengthen controls over the spread of the new "omicron" strain.
In turn, the Director-General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the end of the COVID-19 pandemic depends on several measures.
