Over 566,000 tons of cargo transported by the tanker “Zangilan” in two years
The two-year anniversary of the commissioning of the tanker “Zangilan,” built at the Baku Shipyard by order of ASCO, a company within AZCON Holding, has been marked. The tanker was commissioned on 2 July 2024 with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev.
During its two years in service, the “Zangilan” tanker has completed 83 voyages along the Alaca – Kianli – Sangachal route. Over the course of these voyages, the vessel has transported a total of 566,831 tons of cargo.
The next-generation tanker measures 141 meters in length, 16.9 meters in width, and has a hull height of 6 meters. It is capable of reaching a speed of 10 knots and is operated by a crew of 15. The vessel has six cargo tanks and a deadweight tonnage of 7,875 tons.
The tanker is designed for the transportation of both oil and chemical products. Its technical characteristics, particularly its draft, enable it to enter relatively shallow ports within the Caspian basin at full load, as well as transport cargo beyond the Caspian Sea.
