The “Khojavend” tanker returned to operation after a major overhaul

The “Khojavend” tanker, operated by ASCO, one of the companies under AZCON Holding, has been recommissioned after undergoing a major overhaul.
As part of the repairs, the underwater and topside sections as well as the decks of the tanker were cleaned and painted. The steering and propeller system, main and auxiliary engines, pumps, and boilers were fully inspected, and necessary components were repaired or replaced as needed. Welding works on the hull, pipe installation, electrical installation, automation, and insulation works were also carried out. Cargo-handling, life-saving, and fire-fighting equipment were overhauled and adjusted.
The vessel’s communication and electro-radio navigation systems were refurbished and defective spare parts were replaced with new ones. Modern NAVTEX equipment, an electronic chart display and information system (ECDIS), a radar station, a magnetic compass, a gyrocompass, and a speed log device were installed on board.
Additionally, the crew’s living quarters, sanitary facilities, and the mess room were renovated.
After the overhaul, the tanker successfully passed sea trials, and its first voyage was to the Turkmenbashi port of Turkmenistan.
For reference, the “Khojavend” vessel has a length of 141.9 meters, a width of 16.84 meters, and a carrying capacity of 8,000 tons.
