Azerbaijan among top five autumn travel destinations for Russians
Azerbaijan is among the top five foreign destinations seeing the fastest growth in demand among Russian tourists this autumn, according to research by travel planning service OneTwoTrip.
Hotel bookings in Azerbaijan for autumn 2026 have increased by 18 percent compared with the same period last year.
Greece recorded the biggest increase in demand at 109 percent, followed by Cyprus (100 percent), Serbia (75 percent), and Türkiye (60 percent).
Russian travelers have shown significantly less interest in traditional European destinations. Hotel booking demand fell by 82 percent in Spain, 73 percent in Germany, 65 percent in France, and 59 percent in Italy, while bookings in the UAE declined by 74 percent.
According to experts, accommodation costs, transport links, and visa requirements are becoming increasingly important factors for Russian tourists when choosing overseas destinations.
