The Silk Way Flavor Fest: Baku Edition International Chefs’ Competition came to an end
The Silk Way Flavor Fest: Baku Edition International Chefs Competition which was organized in association with WorldSkills Azerbaijan Public Union and CASA Culinary Center in the framework of the EU funded “VET for the Future: development of VET providers excellence in Azerbaijan” implemented jointly by UNDP and the State Agency for Vocational Education, concluded its work on 20 July by prizing the winners.
Besides our national representatives, the race has also included youngsters of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan with the total number of participants reaching 8 persons as 8 experts of jury panel with 5 of them being as international evaluators have joined the performance appraisal session.
This contest has elevated our country’s representative Kamal Aghayev to the first place while Alexandra Kolpakova of Kazakhstan and Nazanin Israilova of Uzbekistan came the second, and Rufat Zeynalov of Azerbaijan and Mustariy Hasanova of Uzbekistan won the third place.
The prize presentation ceremony has taken place with the participation of Jeyhun Karamov, the Director of the State Vocational Education Agency, Rufat Taghizade, the representative of the Ministry of Science and Education, and Slobodan Tadic, the UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, officers of the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan and several other official guests.
It should be noted that the main purpose of this Competition is to boost the readiness of our national team for the 47th International WorldSkills Competition to be held on 10-15 September this year, contribute to the increase of interest to the VET in our country and become conducive to the exchange of the best international practice in this area.
This competition is the first in-kind international event organized by the WorldSkills Azerbaijan platform. In the framework of this contest, our country became the pioneer in this area by hosting international events.
It should be noted that the WorldSkills Azerbaijan platform was established when Azerbaijan became the 85th member of WorldSKills International Organization on October 2020. Seen as the organizer of Olympic competitions in various skills at the global level, the WorldSkills movement aims to form professionals in line with labor market requirements and global standards and creates opportunities to integrate those standards into the educational system.
