“Kalbajar” tanker carries more than 446,000 tonnes of cargo over five years
Five years have passed since the “Kalbajar” tanker, operated by ASCO, an AZCON Holding company, was commissioned.
 
Built at Baku Shipyard (BSY) upon ASCO’s order, the vessel was commissioned on 10 September 2021 with the participation of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
 
Since entering service, the “Kalbajar” tanker has completed a total of 72 voyages to various ports. During this period, the vessel has transported 446,235 tonnes of crude oil and petroleum products.
 
The new-generation tanker is 141 metres long and 16.9 metres wide, with a moulded depth of 6 metres. Operated by a crew of 15, the vessel can reach a speed of 10 knots. Designed for the transportation of crude oil and petroleum products, the tanker is equipped with six cargo tanks with a total capacity of 9,212 cubic metres. Its deadweight is 7,875 tonnes in sea-going conditions and 5,447 tonnes in river-going conditions.
 
Since its commissioning, the “Kalbajar” tanker has been operating in international waters under the flag of Azerbaijan.
