CEC chairman: “285 candidates registered for parliamentary elections”
So far, 2,226 people have applied to participate in the early parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, scheduled for February 9, 2020, said Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov at CEC's meeting today, Faktor.az reports.
He said that 461 candidates were nominated by 19 political parties: "16 were nominated by initiative groups, and 1749 were nominated individually."
M.Panahov noted that the nomination of 2066 applicants has already been approved: "1903 of them have already taken the signature sheets and 580 have returned the signature sheets. 285 candidates were registered."
