Minister: Azerbaijan - second electricity supplier of Georgia
“Georgia imports electricity from the two primary sources – Russia and Azerbaijan. We supply about 1.2 GWh of electricity from Russia and about 600 MWh from Azerbaijan. We import electricity from Armenia too, Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Report informs.

According to him, Georgia meets 10-14% of the total demand for electricity through imports.

The minister noted no problem with electricity supply: “Imports increase in winter months. The rest of domestic production remains unconsumed in the spring and summer seasons. Georgia is expected to increase the domestic production, and therefore, we’ll reduce dependence on imports in the months to come.”
